Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the West Virginia Resource Center! Volunteers play a vital role in supporting various aspects of our store operations.
If you would like to volunteer to fulfill community service hours or simply to give back, please contact our Customer Service Department at info@wvsourcecenter.org.
Volunteer opportunities are open to individuals ages 16 and older.
Individual volunteer opportunities include (but are not limited to):
Administrative Support
We frequently seek volunteers to assist with data entry, phone inquiries, donation intake, and visitor reception, primarily during early afternoon hours.
Community Service
High school and college students are encouraged to earn service hours by volunteering on-site or working with our team to develop unique opportunities that support our mission.
Thread For All
This program offers a continuous opportunity for individuals who enjoy knitting, crocheting, or sewing to donate handmade hats, scarves, and mittens for students in need. Materials such as yarn and fleece are often available for use.
Supply Drive
Individuals, businesses, schools, places of worship, and other organizations can take part in this annual supply drive in three ways: by hosting a traditional or virtual supply drive or by making a monetary contribution. Additionally, groups can register for a volunteer session at the West Virginia Resource Center. For more information, please contact our Customer Service Department at info@wvresourcecenter.org.
Inventory and Packing Assistance
We are seeking assistance with various tasks to ensure items are properly prepared for distribution. Responsibilities may include restocking shelves, bundling and packaging products, fulfilling online orders, and preparing items for teacher pickups. This dynamic role offers opportunities to contribute in a hands-on way, typically available Monday through Friday mornings.
Warehouse Fulfillment Assistant
The assistance is required with sorting donations and moving products from the receiving area to the warehouse during the mornings and early afternoons. This role is vital to the smooth operation of the West Virginia Resource Center. Key responsibilities include picking and packing orders, restocking inventory, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace to support efficient operations.
