We Support

West Virginia Teachers!

The WV Resource Center is dedicated to empowering students in need by providing free school supplies to their teachers, ensuring they have the tools necessary for effective learning. Our organization serves over 240,000 students across fifty-five school districts in poverty-stricken areas, primarily in West Virginia. These students often rely on meal subsidies, face homelessness, are involved in foster care, or receive other public assistance. Schools where 50% or more of the student population qualifies for free or reduced-price lunches are eligible to participate in our programs.

Our Core Programs:

• WV Resource Center Free Store – This program allows teachers and school personnel from qualifying high-need schools to "shop" for free classroom supplies throughout the academic year.
• Restocking the Classroom – A quarterly distribution program that delivers essential school supplies directly to teachers, ensuring their classrooms remain well-stocked.
• Back-to-School Bash Distribution Event – A large-scale, community-driven initiative where our impact partners help equip hundreds of teachers with the supplies they need for the school year.

Through these programs, each participating teacher gains access to valuable, free resources that enhance student learning and create a more effective and equitable educational environment.

We recognize that access to school supplies directly contributes to student success. By equipping students with the proper tools, we empower them to stay engaged, participate confidently in lessons, and reach their academic goals. Our resources have an immediate and meaningful impact on both students and teachers in underserved communities.

For educators, the WV Resource Center helps alleviate the financial burden of purchasing classroom supplies. Teachers often spend between $800 to $1,200 of their own money each year to bridge the gap in resources. By providing these essential materials, we enable teachers to focus on what matters most creating an effective and equitable learning environment where every student can thrive.
